Last week we were looking at our Twitter feed when we saw our name mentioned in a SERPs.com tweet:
“What?! Really?” we all said after clicking on the link and reading the article. SERPs.com analyzed over 400 SEO agency websites across the largest markets in the U.S., and we made the selective cut into the top 10.
SERPs.com enjoyed the user-friendly aspects of our site, how we make fun designs without flash, and our unobtrusive chat box. Our favorite line of the review was:
“When I enter this site I feel like a welcomed long lost relative, and the employees of Fahrenheit definitely show their southern hospitality by showing the love to their clients, according to their impressive credentials and portfolio.”
We recently re-launched our website after many hours of intense work from our web designers, web developers and content writers. Our goal is for the site to function as our portfolio piece, so our potential clients can see what we can do for them. It was encouraging that all our hard work was noticed.
If that wasn’t exciting enough, we also found out this morning that our website is now a PR5, or has a Google PageRank of 5.
For those who aren’t sure what in the world that means, PageRank measures a web page’s importance. A web page that has a lot of links pointing towards it has a higher rank because people tend to link to relevant content.
PageRank is one factor that affects where a web page shows up in search result rankings. It is measured on a scale of 1-10, with one being the lowest. Since it is set on a logarithmic scale, it is much harder to move from a PR4 to a PR5 than from a PR1 to a PR2.
The best way to increase PageRank is through quality content that others would want to link to from their sites
